[[I and the Father are one]]. Without the mental and emotional baggage of the past, God is a pointer to the experience of love, beauty and intelligence. Obviously the word God is not God; whatever I think or feel about God is a thought or feeling in my own mind. ### It can easily get messy > What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people." [2 Corinthians 6:16](https://biblehub.com/2_corinthians/6-16.htm) ### The key to scripture? For many decades the Bible felt dark, sticky, heavy to me; reading it made me feel depressed and confused. Strangely I felt attracted to the Bible. Not as a moral code, not as a history book, but as a tool to explore the nature of my own mind. "My mind" not in a selfish way, but as the corner stone. All we know and experience is through the mind; so it is fun-da-mental to examine, explore and test the nature of reality right here and now, as I am. Hope and belief have their place in our maturing, but at one point need to make room for knowing.
